Patrick Maclean

DPhil student in Clinical Medicine

I am a DPhil student in the labs of Julian Knight and Alex Mentzer, where I work on the functional genomics of sepsis and related infections including COVID-19. I am interesting in understanding the epigenetic changes which occur as a result of severe infection, and how these changes can be linked to treatment responses and eventually tested as therapeutic targets.

I trained and worked as a doctor in Melbourne, Australia, and my studies in Oxford are supported by the Rhodes Scholarship for Victoria.
