I. INTRODUCTION The incidence of breast cancer is slowly increasing in most countries of the world, and the disease remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in populations. The financial consequences of the disease have a major impact on health economics and, because of the frequency of the condition, together with changes or variations in its management, there will be difficulties with resource planning, as well as differing outcomes amongst treated patients.
