Vice-Chancellor visits Beijing to celebrate medical science collaborations

On Monday 14th May 2012 the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton, led a series of events in Beijing promoting Oxford's strengths in Medical Sciences and showcasing the collaborations between Oxford University and China in this field.

Highlights included a meeting with the Chinese Minister of Health Chen Zhu, the official launch of the Oxford University (Beijing) Science and Technology Co. Ltd offices in the Kerry Centre, and a event at the Kerry Hotel entitled A celebration of collaboration between the University of Oxford and China in the field of Medical Sciences, at which presentations were given by Professor Rury Holman, Dr Peter Horby, Professor Sir Andrew McMichael, and Professor Peter Ratcliffe from the Nuffield Department of Medicine as well as Professor Emily Chan from NDM's collaborative research centre at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Collaborating Centre of Oxford Universty & CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC).
