Careers Service Sessions for NDM
We are very pleased to announce the next set of one-to-one careers sessions run by the Careers Service specifically for NDM, for DPhil students and researchers. This was an initiative launched in August 2013, and we are very pleased that the Careers Service are able to offer these popular sessions for us.
Appointments can be used for exploring career options, guidance in making decisions, improving CVs, cover letters and applications, preparing for and practicing interviews and addressing any other career-related needs.
Each appointment will last for 30 minutes. Appointments will need to be pre-booked through the Careers Service on 01865 274646. When booking, please mention that you are wanting to book for an NDM site session. You will just need to confirm the date and location of the session when you call. For overseas staff, please feel free to contact email@example.com (NDM Athena SWAN Coordinator) to arrange a skype or phone appointment.
If the locations are unfamiliar to you, you may wish to view the access guide to the ORCRB or the access guide to the WTCHG which also provide a map of the Old Road Campus site. On arrival at either building please report to reception, who will be pleased to direct you.

Careers Service Scope
Please be aware that the current scope of the Careers Service is to offer appointments to research staff and DPhil students. However, they do provide a host of resources for staff members who do not fall within these categories.
In addition to the one-to-one sessions provided by the Careers Service, you may also wish to consider joining a mentoring scheme which can provide you with an opportunity to discuss your career options. There are many different schemes on offer, each taylored slightly differently and aimed at different staff groups, so individuals can choose the right one for them. We would also encourage you to make use of your Personal Development Review to discuss your development, aspirations and opportunities. Also, look out for posters and e-mails about the various different courses and events on offer which could provide you with the opportunity to explore your career pathways and options.
