KEMRI (Kenya Medical Research Institute), The Wellcome Trust and the University of Oxford established a partnership in Kenya 25 years ago.

This video shows how Kenyan researchers have discovered the secret of HAPPYness!

KEMRI | Wellcome Trust

Their health research programme has made significant progress on malaria vaccine trials (included insecticide treated bed nets) and pneumonia vaccine.
Their Shopkeeper Project has a marked effect in the Kilifi district, where shops are often the first port of call for parents with a sick child; shopkeepers are better informed about antimalarial and painkillers, and the drugs to recommend to concerned parents.

More information on the programme can be found on the KEMRI | Wellcome Trust website and on the brochure (view HTML version) about 25th Anniversary KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme.
