About the Mexico Institutional Links Grant (Spanish / English)

Tackling global challenges - such as extreme weather conditions, food and energy security and meeting the social and economic needs of a growing and ageing population - requires an integrated research and innovation approach, bringing together communities from different disciplines, sectors and nations in high quality collaborations.

The Newton Institutional Links Programme is part of the wider Newton Fund Research and Innovation Collaboration Programme which aims to build UK-Partner country research and innovation collaborations centred on shared research and innovation challenges which have direct relevance to the partner country's social welfare and economic development.

The Mexico call for Newton Institutional Links aims to support the establishment of UK -Mexico working groups to develop Research, Development and Innovation projects. The scheme will support partnerships between institutions from both countries to develop the Proof of Concept of a joint technology transfer project and to deliver all activities related to stage 3 of NASA Technology Readiness Scale (TRL3).

Grants will be up to £80,000 over 12 months and will cover collaborations between the UK and Mexico. Grants can cover costs which support TRL 3 stage activity, including:

Other activities that support the proof of concept of a technological development can also be funded.

If you want to have a better understanding of NASA Technology Readiness Scale and identify the maturity level of your technological concept consult this video.
