The University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Medicine has recently signed a MoU with Universidad Veracruzana, one of the largest and most important universities in Mexico.

Universidad VeracruzanaThis new MoU will facilitate the exchange of scholars and students and will promote a closer collaboration between both universities, particularly in the field of immunity to infectious diseases. NDM and UV are currently collaborating in several research projects between Prof. Arturo Reyes-Sandoval’s group and Héctor Vivanco Cid from the Instituto de Investigaciones Medico-Biológicas (Biomedical Research Institute) at UV on cellular immune responses to dengue, chikungunya and zika viruses. This MoU will pave the way to increase our academic exchanges and research collaborations with the UV, as part of NDM’s broader strategy to strengthen our networks of research collaboration with key research centres and universities in Mexico working on Neglected and Emerging Infectious Diseases.
