Rosa Rocha Gracia holds a PhD in Chemical and Biological Sciences from the National School of Biological Sciences of the National Polytechnic Institute, México, DF. She has experience in Molecular Biology, Medical Microbiology (human and veterinary), and in the study of host-parasite relationship mainly in bacterial models like Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Methicillin-resistant staphylococci (MRSA). She does mainly research study focused on the molecular mechanisms of resistance in strains of E. coli, K. pneumoniae and MRSA, isolated from different sources (clinical samples, carriers, food and pets), in collaboration with PhD Carmen Torres of the University of La Rioja, Spain.
Dr Rocha Gracia is currently a researcher in the Laboratory Diseases Hospital and Community, Research Center in Microbiological Sciences, Sciences Institute, Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Recently, in collaboration with Prof Arturo Sandoval Reyes of the University of Oxford in the UK, constituted the International Research Network (IRN) called: “Integral Study of Dengue: an Epidemiological, Biomolecular, Public Health and immune Approach,” which develops the research project: “Recognition of conserved protein sequences of Dengue virus, candidate immunogens", with the participation of graduate students in Microbiology from the BUAP. The IRN is composed of researchers from the BUAP, in collaboration with Prof Reyes Sandoval and aims to develop research projects that result in the production of a vaccine against dengue virus.
