Lithotripsy

Lithotripsy

Many stones can be treated with lithotripsy (shock wave treatment). In Oxford we have a Storz Modulith SLX F2 lithotripter. This video illustrates the treatment. Patients are awake and lie in a pool of warm water on the table to allow the shock waves to pass easily into the body. Treatment takes about 45 minutes.
