Information for Supervisors
D.Phil. supervisors are senior members of the NDM holding independent research programmes, and supervisors will usually hold a PhD/DPhil or equivalent higher degree themselves. Supervisors accepting a student take responsibility for the scientific development and research training of the graduate. This relationship is a partnership requiring honesty and good communication. Supervisors must communicate their enthusiasm for their subject and create an environment that fosters academic excellence. The supervisor is required to report on the progress of the student to the University and advise the student on examinations and his/her future career.
