The immune system plays a major role in many human diseases, including cancer, infection, atherosclerosis and autoimmune disease. A better understanding of the immune system should accelerate the design of better treatments for these diseases.
We study the function of the molecules and pathways involved in the immune response and the role of the immune system and inflammation in disease. The group employs a wide range of approaches to understand basic biology and disease mechanisms.
