Head of Statistical Genomics
- Associate Professor
- Group Leader
I am a Group Leader at the Centre for Human Genetics where I run a small research group focussed on human and pathogen genomics, with a particular focus on Plasmodium falciparum malaria. We are using genetics to detect and dissect signals of interaction between malaria parasites and factors that produce host immunity - including host protective mutations and interventions such as vaccines - and to unpick the underlying biological function and evolutionary consequences. To achieve this we are working closely with local and international collaborators.
I am also deeply involved in computational and statistical genomics training for the centre's postgraduate training programmes.
