Biography
I studied Natural Sciences and Chemistry for my BA and MSc at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 2020. During my undergraduate studies, I took part in brief lab experiences in the Suga Lab (University of Tokyo, 2018) and the Bourgouin Group (2019, Institut Pasteur) working on genetic code reprogramming and malaria vaccine research respectively. I completed my Master's research in the Lab of Molecular Biology (LMB) with Prof Jason Chin, investigating quadruplet-decoding tRNAs. From these experiences, I decided to re-focus on biological research for my DPhil.
Currently, my work in the Douglas Group looks at developing vaccines against Rabies Virus and Epstein Barr Virus (EBV), with specific interest in targeting the viral fusion machinery. This research involves some computational and structural biology as well as molecular biology techniques to better understand how these proteins might be used in vaccines against Rabies and EBV infection.
